British Lead Climbing Championships
This coming weekends BLCC will be held at Blackpool Towers Climbing Wall with Planet Fear as this years competition sponsors. May 24th-25th 2008.
The competition is open to anyone and entry forms can be downloaded here. Rules and Regulations for the competition can be downloaded here. The junior section of the competition runs on Saturday with the senior section running on the Sunday. Expect to see some big faces in the climbing world competing on both days. Two qualification rounds on each day will determine who goes forward to the finals. The routes are shown to all competitors by the routesetters and competitors will not therefore be climbing 'onsight'. There are 2 qualification rounds for both junior and seniors alike.
It is free for spectators and there will be a variety of other entertainment away from the competition in the form of stalls, try-outs and demonstrations. Some queries have arisen about parking and high car parking prices. The BMC and Planet Fear have sorted a free area of car parking for competitors and spectators which requires the completion of a short survey on the BMC website which can be found here. The 'Free Parking' pass will be email to you on completion of the survey.
