Natural Protection - n. Gear that is placed in cracks or pockets which can be removed with no harm to the rock. ie: cams, nuts, hexes.
Nubbin - n. A very tiny protrusion that may be used as a foot or hand hold. Sometimes referred to as a ‘micro’. Usually found on very technical indoor bouldering routes as it requires great technical skill and strength to use this hold.
Nuts - n. a flared piece of metal placed into a bottle neck constriction as a means of protection.
Nut Tool -n. A small metal hand-held device for extracting nuts from the rock face.
Nylon - n. Versatile material used to
make slings, aiders, etriers, rope sacks, daisychains, tents and climbing
clothing.
